Lord & Berry ‘Magic Brow Pencil’ Review

First Impressions.

I really need a new eyebrow pencil. I'm not a huge fan of mine as it leaves a thick, greasy look which doesn't appeal to me. Eyebrow pencils are one of those items where there are so many on offer I haven't known where to start when looking for an alternative, so I'm very glad to have the opportunity to try this Lord & Berry Eyebrow Pencil from Augusts Look Fantastic box.

My Look Fantastic Booklet Says:

"A quick and easy brow product made in fashionable Milan. This pencil is easy to use and suits all eyebrow colours thanks to its two-colour universal tip."

I've got a 0.85g sample of the eyebrow pencil in the shade #1706Brunette. Full size the pencil sells in 1g sizes, and has a spoolie on one end. The best price I found for the full size item is £8.40 from cultbeauty.co.uk, which makes my sample worth approximately £7.14. There are two other shades available for the brow pencil, #1704 – Wonderful, and #1705 Blondie.

The pencil itself is black with a clear, plastic cap. The branding is printed on the front in white writing.

The back of the pencil has the shade, company contact information, size and place of manufacture (Italy.)

I really like the formula for this pencil, it feels smooth and glides over my skin. It delivers a good colour but it's not too thick or strong to leave an unnatural result.

I don't have perfectly matching eyebrows – a combination of overplucking when I was younger and a poorly placed mole makes them difficult to get the same, but they have come on a long way from how they used to look and I'm working towards equality. Below you can see the difference between an eyebrow using the pencil, and my other eyebrow in its natural glory.

To repeat the process on the other eyebrow I begin by brushing the hair on my eyebrow up and drawing the outline of the lowest point of the brow.

Then I brush the hair down and outline the top of the eyebrow.

Now that I have drawn the shape of the eyebrow I fill in the gaps with the pencil using little stroke motions. I brush Maybelline brow drama in dark brown over the filled eyebrow to hold my hairs in the directions I want them to face. Finally, I brush L'Oreal True Match Concealer in shade 04 Beige around the brow to sharpen the edges, and erase any mistakes. I'll blend this in to my foundation when I apply it later. There is a video showing the process on the first eyebrow on my Instagram @fayesbox.

Overall I'm delighted with the results I get from this eye brow pencil, and I'm very glad to have received it in my Look Fantastic box. It is so much better than what I was using before I'll definitely be switching to this brand going forward.
