Look Fantastic July 2017 ‘Pretty in Paradise’ Unboxing

This month is my third subscription box from Look Fantastic, and so far I’m really enjoying their boxes. Last month I had a great variety of items which I loved trying, and I recieved a total of £54.62 worth of items + a copy of Elle magazine, based on the best prices I could find for everything when I wrote each review. I only pay £14.50 per month for my subscription, which commits me to three months worth of boxes so I feel like I had incredible value for money.

This months box design is a beautiful tropical palm leaf, and the Pretty in Paradise box name and Look Fantastic branding are written in gold writing on the front of the box.

The inside of the lid contains a beautiful quotation, written in shiny, gold writing. This months quote is by Roald Dahl, and it’s really rather lovely.

Inside the box I have the beautiful Pretty in Paradise booklet, and a copy of July’s Elle magazine. I’m really enjoying the copies of Elle, and the money I save from not having to buy the magazine. The booklet is 20 pages long, and starts with a letter from the Beauty Editor, Amelia. Amelia explains that this month the box includes summer essentials for warm summer nights. Pages 4/5 have a table of contents, page 6/7 contains the products and a little summary of what they do. The remainder of the booklet contains articles, mostly written to promote seasonal products for sale but there is a really nice article that explains SPF protection, some tips to preferct your bikini body and a snapshot of the five most beautiful beaches in the world. If you have a holiday coming up this box will get you excited, if like me you don’t have a holiday on the horizon it might encourage you to do a little search…

The items this month are nestled under dark green tissue paper, which is fastened with a little sticker with #LFBEAUTYBOX sticker written in the same shade of dark green.

Opening up the tissue paper I’m pleased to see that I have 7 items this month, and they are nestled in dark green shredded tissue paper. From first glance I reckon a few of the items are full size, and there seems to be a good mixture of stuff – I have a haircare item, two skincare items, two makeup items, dental care and something edible.

Jelly Pong Pong – Bare Essentials Highlighting Pencil: A highlighting pencil was one of the first items I wrote about on my blog. The article was published 23rd January if you fancy a peek, but to summarise I didn’t think much of the Lord & Berry version I tried from January’s Birchbox as it didn’t give me any light or coverage, so I hope this is the polar opposite of that pencil.

Hot Makeup – Bronzing Powder: I mentioned during the review of Vita Liberata Luxury Tan from May’s Cohorted that I don’t usually wear a lot of bronzer, but I have started to dabble a little more with it, so I’m really looking forward to trying another variety of bronzer.

Moroccan Oil – Hydrating Styling Cream: I’ve used some Moroccan Oil based products before, although not by this brand, and I found them really good. I’m looking forward to seeing the different styles this can help me create.

Regenerate – Toothpaste: I do like the toothpaste I currently use, with is Oral B 3D Whitening Toothpaste, but toothpaste is one of those things that I tend to buy the same brand forever and a day, so I, glad to try alternatives. The main things I look for in toothpaste are clean teeth (obviously!), fresh breath, and whitening is a key benefit for me. This one says it also repairs enamel.

Mimitika – Sun Cream: I am so psyched about this item! I really hoped I would receive a facial sunscreen to look after my skin in the Sun. I’ve been using the same sun cream on my body as I have on my face, but it’s too heavy and is not doing my skin any good so I hope this is lighter.

Imedeen – Advanced Beauty Shot: This is a single use 15ml shot containing vitamin c and collagen. I’m not going to review this item, but if you like it you can buy 10 shots for £32.99 from lookfantastic.com, which means that my shot is worth 3.30.

Cowshed – Chamomile Refrshing Toner: I’ve tried a face wash by Cowshed before, and I really liked it. I’ve only ever used one toner, and I’m happy with it, but this is definitely an item I could try more varieties of to make sure I have the best match for me. I’m looking forward to seeing how fresh and clean my skin feels after use.

The first impression of my box is excellent, and I’m really looking forward to trying every single item that’s been included. I’ll be writing a review on each item throughout the month, and at the end of the month I’ll return to this article to leave my final thoughts on the box, whether I had value for ,only and discuss what my favourite items were.
