Limited Edition ‘My Little Treat’ by Cohorted Unboxing

The last time I bought a Limited Edition beauty box was 01.04.17 when I unwrapped ‘The Beauty Egg’ by Look Fantastic. It’s been a little bit quiet on the Limited Edition front lately, so when I recieved an e-mail from Cohorted on 30.04.17 telling me they were releasing a Limited Edition box, naturally I jumped at the chance to get my hands on it.

The wait for the box has seemed to take an eternity, despite buying it straight away on the 30th April, the dispatch date wasn’t until the 15th May, presumably so Cohorted could focus on the monthly box first – which is completely understandable. The box costs £60 which includes free p&p.

The ‘My Little Treat’ box has been packaged beautifully in the square, black Cohorted box, which is beautifully finished with a ribbon.

Untying the bow, and lifting the lid of the box there is a brochure included for ‘The Ovali Collection’, which are a beautiful set of brushes available to buy from Cohorted. I’m a little disappointed that there isn’t a product information card included, I think it’s always nicer in a box to be able to read about the beautiful items included.

Removing the brochure I can see that I have 6 items included in my box, all of which are makeup items and all of which appear to be full size. I normally prefer to receive a mixture of makeup, skincare and haircare items in my boxes but I’m really glad that this has so much makeup included as my boxes have been very focussed on Summer skincare this month, so it’s nice to have a mixture.

Urban Decay – Naked Palette: I have bought and used individual Urban Decay eyeshadow colours in the past, and I loved them for being so rich and pigmented. This palette though. This is a thing of beauty unlike anything I’ve seen before. I can’t wait to use it.

The Ovali Collection – Contour Brush: This pretty little brush is beautiful, soft and is so similar to many I’ve seen on Instagram but not yet used. I’ve only recently started contouring so I’m interested to see the effect this brush has on the result.

Doucce – Maxlash Volumizer Mascara: This is the only brand in the box that I haven’t heard of, although I love mascara passionately and can’t wait to see what it does.

Urban Decay – Naked Bronzing Beauty Balm: This pretty bronze tube of shininess has really caught my attention – I’m yet to work out whether it is a self tan, or a makeup product. Either way, it’s the perfect time of the year to receive it and with the lack of Sun at the moment will be useful in creating a sunkissed glow.

Laura Mercier – Crème Smooth Lip Colour: I had a Laura Mercier lipstick in April’s Cohorted so I knew this item would be a risk but I’ve been unlucky and recieved the exact same shade – Audrey. The original review is still available if you wish to read it, to give you an overview of my thoughts I adored this lipstick. I love the shade, I love the formula, and I love the packaging. The lipstick is worth £22.00, and worth every penny. Im going to donate this one to my daughter as I won’t use them both before they spoil.

Kure Bazaar – Nail Lacquer: This pretty pink shade of nail polish is adorable. I had a Kure Bazaar item in April’s Roccabox and I loved it. I hope this is fast drying and long lasting.

Overall, my first impressions of the box are excellent – although I sort of knew they would be as none of these items were a surprise to me. I’ll be trying and reviewing them throughout the month, and when over tested each item I’ll come back to this article and update my final thoughts, whether I had value for money and my favourite items.

Update: 02.07.17 – After much reflection I’m actually quite disappointed with this Limited Edition box, and checking the website last week I guess I’m not the only person who thinks so as it still hasn’t sold out. I feel subscribers had a raw deal with the lipstick being included in May’s box, the nail polish included in June’s and the bronzing lotion was included a few boxes ago. For me, Limited Edition boxes should offer the opportunity to be a treat but this feels like it was a way of bundling together unwanted extras, not cool. I did receive £115.77 which is good value, and for non subscribers this would have been an excellent box.

A highlight for me is the Doucce mascara. It is truly the best mascara I’ve ever used in my life and I would never have chosen it shopping. I’m very glad to have this.

the standout item for me is the Urban Decay Naked Palette. It is a thing of beauty, and has a beautiful variety of creamy eyeshadows – it was always going to be the star of the show.

I’m not saying that I’m never going to buy a Cohorted Limited Edition box again… but I hope when they next put one together they think a little more about their regular subscribers and offer them something different. I know I’m going to Ben really careful before I buy again, and even if one item is duplicated I’ll pass – Faye 💕
