Mandara Spa ‘Amber Heaven Body Lotion’ Review

I recieved three very different body lotions in beauty boxes this month, and the first is the Mandara Spa Body Lotion, which was included in my May’s Roccabox.

This is a 50ml tub of body lotion from the Amber Heaven range, but it is unclear whether this is a full size item or a sample. I’ve searched and searched online and I can’t find a retailer selling a body lotion from this range on its own, with the exception of auction sites and alike. Visiting mandaraspa.com directs shoppers to timetospa.co.uk where there is a trio of Amber Heaven items for sale for £6.80, and one of the items is a 50ml body lotion. Whilst the item is very unlikely to make up exactly a third of the sets value, to give me a ball park figure that’s how I’m going to cost the item – making it worth approximately £2.26.

The body lotion is in a clear tub with a gold coloured plastic lid. The lid has a purple sticker on with the product description printed in white, and branding in shiny gold writing. The bottom of the body lotion has the company contact details, and place of manufacture (UK), and a warning to keep the cream out of eyes.

Ingredients: Aqua/water/eau, c12-15 alkyl benzoate, cetearyl alcohol, glycerin, ethylhexyl palmitate, polysorbate 60, peg-100 stearate, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, phenoxyethanol, panthenol, sodium carbomer, dipropylene glycol, borago officinalis (starflower) seed oil, disodium edta, xanthan gum, Mel/Honey/miel, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e), fragrance (parfum), 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1, 3-diol, pogostemon cablin (patchouli) leaf oil, cistus ladaniferus resin, styrax benzoin gum, santalum album (sandalwood) oil, citric acid, sodium hydroxide, hexyl cinnamel, benzyl benzoate, coumarin, linalool, alpha-isomethyl lonone.

Directions: Gently massage over body to leave skin intensely moisturised.

Unscrewing the lid from the body lotion I can see that the lotion is a white cream. The formula is a little thinner than a body butter, and it’s not set despite being packaged in a tub. Breathing in the fragrance the smell reminds me of baby lotion. I decide to try the body lotion on my legs. The lotion applies easily and is quickly absorbed, and the smell lasts for a long time.

Overall this is a pleasant body lotion, but I won’t be buying another as it didn’t set the world on fire for me. Saying that, body lotions are always handy to have so I’m glad to have recieved it
