I’ve not tried a Latest in Beauty monthly box before but this particular Limited Edition box caught my eye, and I’ve wanted it ever since. Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney film, and like so many of my friends I’m seriously excited to see the new film in the cinema when it’s released next week. I remember seeing a popular makeup company were releasing a range of lipsticks especially for the film and I was so disappointed that it wouldn’t be for sale in the UK. When I saw this box for the first time on Twitter that disappointment completely left me and a I was really glad to have something themed to look forward to alongside the film again.
The box cost £20.00 plus postage and packing, which looks like seriously good value for money as there are 7 products inside. Limited Edition boxes aren’t the same as regular subscription beauty boxes. Usually with a monthly subscription box there is an element of surprise and whilst subscribers might be teased with knowing one or two items ahead of the boxes delivery on the res of the items remain a mystery. Furthermore, often with regular subscription boxes different subscribers will get different treats and one of my favourite things to do it hop online after I’ve been throb my box to see what other subscribers had too. Limited Edition’s tend to cost a little more, so companies tend to advertise all the included products either before or when the box goes on sale. Even though I know what’s included in my box, I still love the experience of opening it to see it for the first time.
The box is absolutely stunning, and is easily the nicest looking beauty box I’ve ever received. The box is styled like a book, and is blue with faux aged paper pages. On the front is proudly displayed the Beauty and the Beast title, and the Latest in Beauty branding is on the back. Lifting the book’s front cover opens the box, and I can see that a lot of care has been put into the design. Inside the front cover of the “book” is a beautiful depiction of the films release date, and I also have a beautiful leaflet which contains all the information about my products, and some discount offers. The attention to details continues as I look under the leaflet as all the items are surrounded with shredded tissue paper and red rose petals.
I have seven products altogether, and whilst the card doesn’t say whether my items are full size or sample items I think I have three at least that are full size. There is also a nice mix of items in the box, I have one haircare, three skincare, two makeup items and an accessory. The items, and my hopes of what they will be like are:
Gatineau Paris Radiance Enhancing Gommage I like an exfoliator to be really rough like sandpaper, but I also hope this is light to leave my skin feeling refreshed.
L’occitane en Provence Roses et Reines Hand & Nail Cream I hope that this pretty looking hand cream is rich and moisturising, and smells delicious.
Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo I don’t really use dry shampoo, but when I do I don’t like it to leave my hair looking powdery so I hope when I need this little can of gold dust it gives me an invisible yet glossy finish.
Soigné Botnique Betteraves Rouges Nail Polish This is a lovely shade of red polish. I like the colour already, but I hope it’s fast drying and long wearing.
Burst Bees Lipstick I hope this lipstick colour comes out well on lips without needing lots of coats, and is long lasting.
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet I hope that this is a refreshing moisturiser that is light and thirst quenching.
Latest in Beauty Gold Compact Mirror
I’m really looking forward to trying everything. I’ll review all the products and post each review in my blog, and let you know whether they lived up to my hopes and expectations. At the end of the month I’ll come back and update this article to let you know what I through the stand out products were and whether I felt I had value for money.
Edit: 16.04.17 – Altogether I received £45.96 worth of products (excluding the mirror) in exchange for my £20, so this box was really good value for money.
A highlight of the box for me has been the Caudalie Vibosource Moisturising Sorbet. It’s lightweight hydrating formula really quenches and refreshes my skin.
The standout item for me is the Soigné Betteraves Rouges Nail Polish, which I love so much I wore for my holiday nails instead of getting a manicure. I can see this being a colour I wear most days, it looks glossy, sophisticated and lasts for ages.
I’n so glad I bought this beautiful Beauty and the Beast box. From the beautiful packaging to great selections of products inside it’s a winner, and I’ll definitely try more Latest in Beauty Limited Editions – Faye 💕
