February 2017 Glossybox

I have finally got my hands on my Glossybox! It was dispatched only a day after my Birchbox, but wasn’t left in my “safe place” when I was in work, which has made it a little complicated to get hold of. It’s here now though, and I hope it’s worth the wait! I’ve made another video, you can see it here: https://youtu.be/3l1ighOUGlY

Glossybox have changed their box especially for Valentines Day, and it’s very striking. The bottom of the box is still pale pink, but the lid has black and white diagonal stripes, with the word “love” in chunky pink capital letters. The tissue paper also has the bold diagonal stripes, and the small touches that make opening the Glossybox so special like the bow, and sticker details are still features of this collectors edition.

I received 5 products in my Glossybox this month, and according to my card 4 of them are full sized products, with just one sample sized product, which seems like an incredibly generous box. There is a really nice mix of products too, I’ve got two beauty products, a Skincare product, a haircare product and for the first time in a Glossybox a fragrance.

The first product announced in the sneak peeks was the Noir Eternae face scrub, which according to the card is a full sized product. This product was mentioned a few times in the build up to this box, and Glossybox also put together a handy guide showing users how to apply the mask for glowing results. This scrub is said to harness the properties of volcanic sand, which sounds pretty exotic. It’s conjouring images of The Canaries, or Hawaii with beautiful sandy beaches, I’m hoping I will feel like I’m relaxing on a beautiful beach somewhere when I’m wearing it!

The second sneak peek announced was the L’eau de Rose, which is also described as a full sized product. According to the sneak peek, rose is having a moment in the world of beauty – which is fine by me as I really love the smell. Glossybox have also put together a guide to get long lasting wear from the scent, which is great as my first impressions are that it’s a very light and delicate fragrance, which has the potential to disappear quickly.

Next in my box is a hair restorer balm sample by Ultimate Blends. I like this sample for a few reasons, first and foremost I’ve tried Ultimate Blends before and I liked the shampoo and conditioner, so I’m sure I will like this as much. The other reason why I like the look of this product is my hair needs a little TLC after being highlighted, and heat styled. This looks like the sort of product I could use once a week on a Sunday as a little pick me up, so I hope I love it as much as I think I will.

I also have a Ciate London paint pot in Iced Frappe. There have been a few nail polishes in Glossyboxes recently, but each one has been very different shades, so I’m still loving them. I haven’t bought myself a nude nail polish for some time, and I love the look of this one. It’s another full sized product, and a very pretty bottle, I’m hoping it will give me good long lasting wear and dry quickly on application.

The final product I have this month is a mememe highlighter, which at first glance reminds me of one of my favourite highlighters “Benefit-Moonbeam”, a little darker perhaps but it looks like there is loads of light packed into the formula. This is another full sized product, which will last me for ages, and I can get lots of use from.

Overall, I’m really happy with the first impression of my Glossybox this month. I’ve been a little disappointed with Glossybox lately, and was a little critical in my last review that there wasn’t enough variation of products in the box, which is something I saw quite a lot online last month. It’s really reassuring that Glossybox have listened to the feedback and have made a much more varied box this month, I can’t wait to try it all. I will be reviewing everything and all of those reviews will follow in due course. When I’ve tested and recviewed everything I’ll update this post with my box highlights, and final thoughts.

Edit 26/02/17 – This has been an utterly smashing Glossybox, with a whopping £61.89 worth of products (based on the best prices I could find.) Furthermore, 4 of the 5 products are full size and overall I think I’ve had excellent value for money this month.

One highlight has definitely been the Ciaté Nail Polish in Iced Frappe, I’ve used it a few times since first trying it and I’m still as in love with the colour as I was the first time I tried it. I’m absolutely going to try more products from the Ciaté range, and I’m really pleased to have found another nail brand that I adore.

The standout product for me has been the La Theorie des Volcans ‘Noir Eternae Youth Potion Face Scrub’. Ive been using it every 2-3 days as advised, and I can really feel a difference in my skin. I also still love that it changes colour, and smells divine. I’m going to be devastated when I run out of this as I cannot afford to keep this up long term, but I really hope Glossybox repeat this in the future as I would love another one. Faye 💕
